Resources: hippoVEND: Server Confirmations

If you wish, it is possible to set your server to send you a confirmation every time it makes a delivery. This might be useful if you’re having trouble with a particular server and want to keep an eye on what it’s doing.

To activate this function, simply edit the “_config” notecard that resides within your hippoVEND server’s contents and edit these settings ...

IM ON DELIVERY: <Yes/No>

EMAIL ON DELIVERY: <Yes/No>
e.g. EMAIL ON DELIVERY: Yes

EMAIL ADDRESS:<your email address>
e.g. EMAIL ADDRESS: serverconfirmations@acmehippocompany.com

As you can see, you can choose to send instant messages (IMs) and/or an email (in this case, turn the email setting to ‘Yes’ and provide an email address where you’d like the confirmations to go.

Once you’ve made any changes, close and save the ‘_config’ notecard, click your server and choose “Reset” to have it reload and apply any changes you made. If you’ve elected to receive notifications, you’ll be told the product name, the key (and occasionally the name, but more usually just the key) of the recipient.

Note: the server will only contact you when it delivers a product, not when it hands out information notecards.

Always remember to save the ‘_config’ notecard, click the vendor and choose “Reset”
from the menu to reload it and apply any changes you’ve made once you’re done.
