You can instruct a rental box to lock itself once the current tenancy comes to an end, preventing a new tenant from taking over once the current tenant leaves. To do this:
Click the rental box and choose “Voice Cmd” from the menu
Type lock on end
The rental box will confirm with a message like:
hippoRENT Rental Box 5.0 whispers: Rental box will lock when this tenancy ends.
Once the current tenancy ends, the rental box will lock so it cannot be paid.
It is also possible to “bake” this command into a rental box via its Configuration Notecard, in case it should become reset (e.g. Second Life suffers a major sim crash). To do this, add this command to the Configuration Notecard:
LOCK ON END: Yes
Whilst web-enabled rental box users can select the box (or boxes) they wish to apply this to ...
.... then choose Lock on End of Tenancy from the command pick list and click OK ...
... and, finally, confirm your choice.
To remove a lock on end command setting from a box, use the unlock function.
