Resources: hippoRENT v5: Custom Fields

If you’re using the web-enabled version of hippoRENT, then version 5 adds the ability to use a “custom field” with each rental box, allowing you to store useful bits of information, perhaps about the location or the tenant, that don’t fit elsewhere.

To use custom fields, begin by visiting the Preferences page within the hippoRENT website, where you’ll see three options like this:

Tick the option(s) you want to change and click OK. Each are described below.

Turn this on and a new field will appear at the bottom of the configuration page when setting up a box ...

This allows you to add custom data to a box. (You will also be able to search this custom field when filtering your box list).

Note, if you’re a scripter you may be interested to know you can read or write to the custom data field in a rental box inworld using your own scripts. Contact us for more information.

Turn this option on and any custom data you add to a box will appear beneath its name on the box list; like this:

Turn this option on to include the custom data in the CSV output from the box list page; e.g.

Name, Location, Land Parcel, Price, Unit, Prim Allowance, Tenant, Days Left, Time Left, Prim Count (All), Prim Count (Group), Prim Count (Tenant), Custom Field
